Philosophy

Champagne wines are unique in the world, recognised the world over and enjoyed by all!

They come from a multi-faceted Champagne region, shaped by the richness of its terroirs
and the passionate expertise of its talented artisans...

It is this precious heritage that we are committed to respecting, sharing and raising even higher:
From the earth to the glass, from the grape to the wine, our mission is to accompany nature,
with care, patience and humility, to create exceptional wines, alive and with identity.

AGE OF VINES

The quality of our champagnes is determined by the care we take with our vines. The age of the vines is important, as it favours the aromatic concentration of the berries: renewal is therefore carried out slowly so as to maintain a relatively high average age of around 35 years. Two of our plots are over 100 years old!

GRASSING

All our vines are grassed. The grass competes with the shallow roots of the vines, forcing them to root deeper and exploit the resources of our terroir more fully. Grassing also promotes soil permeability to air.

SOIL WORKING

In spring and summer, light ploughing along the rows aerates the soil and also helps the vines to develop better roots. Mechanical weeding under the rows is carried out using blades, stars or inter-vine discs.

BIOLOGICAL CONTROL

We no longer use insecticides because we have opted, at the village level, to use mating disruption to combat grapevine moths. To combat mildew and powdery mildew, we use copper and sulphur in homeopathic doses.

TRADITIONAL PRESSING

Our two traditional Coquart presses extract the best juice from the grapes. The smaller one, with a capacity of 2,000 kg of grapes, or just 5 barrels, allows us to isolate a plot for separate vinification in the winery.

VINIFICATION
IN OAK BARRELS

We vinify in both stainless steel vats and oak barrels to obtain a wide range of aromas.

PRESICE
BLENDS

4 grape varieties, a varied plot layout, wines aged in vats and barrels, reserve wines to reveal the terroir and affirm the JR style.

BALANCED
AGING

Our wines are aged on lees for 2 to 12 years at a constant temperature in our vaulted cellars.

Our wines are not created by chance. They are the expression of a soil, a climate, a grape variety, a gesture. They carry within them the memory of life, the hand of the craftsman, the patience of time. Our wines unite tradition and movement, rigour and emotion.
